Exercise Bright Star 2025 held in Egypt

  • Exercise Bright Star 2025 is a biennial multilateral military exercise held in Egypt, co-hosted by the United States.
  • The 19th edition took place from August 28 to September 10, 2025, and involved approximately 7,900 troops from 43 countries.
  • India sent a contingent of over 700 personnel from the Indian Army, Indian Navy (including the INS Trikand frigate), and Indian Air Force.
  • The exercises began in 1980, rooted in the 1977 Camp David Accords. After its signing, the United States Armed Forces and the Egyptian Armed Forces agreed to conduct training together in Egypt.
