NITI Aayog launched the India Electric Mobility Index (IEMI)

  • NITI Aayog launched the India Electric Mobility Index (IEMI) in August 2025 to track and benchmark the progress of Indian States and Union Territories in the electric mobility transition.
  • The IEMI evaluates performance across 16 indicators under three themes – Transport Electrification Progress, Charging Infrastructure Readiness, and EV Research and Innovation Status – providing a comprehensive score out of 100 for each state and UT.
