Tato-II Hydroelectric Project – Arunachal Pradesh

  • The Tato-II Hydroelectric Project is a proposed 700 MW run-of-river project on the Siyom River in Shi Yomi District, Arunachal Pradesh. 
  • Approved by the Union Cabinet with an investment of approximately ₹8,146 crore, it will use four 175 MW turbines to generate 2,738 million units of power annually, aiding the national grid and improving local infrastructure, power supply, and employment in the region. 
  • The project will be a joint venture between NEEPCO and the Government of Arunachal Pradesh. 
  • The project is expected to be completed within 72 months of its approval in August 2025. 
  • Arunachal Pradesh will receive 12% of the power generated from the project for free.
