Tshechu Fair – Himachal GK

  • The Tshechu Fair (Chessu Fair) is a significant Buddhist festival celebrated in Rewalsar of Mandi district. It’s a state-level fair.
  • The fair commemorates the birth anniversary of Guru Padma Sambhava, a sage guru who meditated on the banks of Rewalsar Lake for many years.
  • The festival takes place twice a year, with Chhota Tsechu celebrated in December/January and Bara Tsechu in February/March.
  • Tshechu is religious festival of the Drukpa Lineage of the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism.
  • The festival features the Cham dance, a traditional Buddhist ritual dance performed by monks.
  • Tsog, a Tibetan preparation made of barley, ghee, and gur, is distributed during the fair.
  • Five-colored buntings with Buddhist mantras are hung to purify the atmosphere.

त्शेचु मेला

  • त्शेचु मेला (चेस्सू मेला) मंडी जिले के रिवालसर में मनाया जाने वाला एक महत्वपूर्ण बौद्ध त्यौहार है। यह एक राज्य स्तरीय मेला है।

  • त्शेचु तिब्बती बौद्ध धर्म के काग्यू स्कूल के द्रुकपा वंश का धार्मिक त्यौहार है।
  • इस त्यौहार में चाम नृत्य होता है, जो बौद्ध भिक्षुओं द्वारा किया जाने वाला एक पारंपरिक बौद्ध अनुष्ठान नृत्य है।
