Maitree-2025 – India-Thailand Military Exercise

• Exercise Maitree 2025 is the 14th edition of the annual bilateral military exercise between the Indian Army and the Royal Thai Army. 
• The exercise is scheduled to take place from September 1 to 14, 2025. 
• The exercise is being held at the Foreign Training Node in Umroi, Meghalaya, India. 
• “Maitree” means “friendship,” which reflects the main goal of strengthening defense cooperation and mutual understanding between the two nations.
• Maitree 2024 was held in July 2024, at Fort Vachiraprakan in Tak Province, Thailand. 
• Previously, this Exercise was held in India in 2019. 
• The exercise was first conducted in 2006.
